Social Security Office Changes

October 19, 2022 Guest User

U.S. Social Security Administration’s official flag

Do you want to apply for Social Security Disability? Do you have questions about your existing benefits or future disability benefits?

In March 2020, along with most of the world, Social Security local offices and hearing offices closed their doors to the public in the wake of the Covid pandemic. Instead of walking in and waiting in line to file a disability application or get questions answered, everyone moved to the phone or online. Social Security office personnel worked from their homes and sometimes had only limited access to claim information. Now, over two years later, many offices are starting to reopen to limited in-person services.

Just as Covid itself is constantly changing, so are Social Security office closures and policies. It is best to check online or by phone to see if your local office is currently open. You can also click HERE to see up-to-date information on office closures.

If you have already applied for Social Security disability benefits and you want to check the status, you can do it online HERE. If you aren’t getting the answers you need, and you want an attorney to help you, please call our office for a free phone appointment.

Do you need help filing a new Social Security disability application, or appealing a disability denial? Please call our office for a FREE consultation at (520) 622-2833. We look forward to helping you!
